This weeks challenge at Shopping our Stash ,the project must contain something embossed- using either heat or dry methods or both. So I made this card. I started with black cardstock and stamped it with versamarker, then used my white Stampinup embossing powder. after embossing with the heat gun I used my pastel markers and colored in the flowers.  I used tim holtz ink to edge the white paper.  for the backing I used Tim Holts magic paper and ran it through my big shot using fantasy flowers embossing folder. I used  a sanding block to bring out the back color on the tim holtz paper,  I then embossed the happy bday salutation on black paper. so I have used dry embosssing and embossing with versamarker, embossing powder and a heat gun. There is a tutorial for this on Splitcoaststampers.

I just learned to do this telescoping card and I quite like them. They are fun to do and quite easy. the tutorial is on Splitcoast stampers this week.  You need two stamped images and a set of nestabilities.  The challenge this week at opus-gluei is to use the color red and one other color, so I am entering this card in their challenge.  thanks for looking.

The challenge for Shopping our Stash this week is to use a technique you have always wanted to try or one that you have forgotten about, well I guess I sort of qualify. I saw a technique on splitcoast stampers that I had to try, I can't say I've always wanted to try it, but I have since yesterday when I saw that tutorial.  It's called a telescoping image and here is my version.  To do this you have to stamp two pictures , then use different size nestabilities to make the dimensional look.  check out the challenge at Shopping our Stash.    and the tutorial at splitcoast stampers. Thanks for looking.

This weeks challenge at Shopping our Stash  was to add an extra fold or pleat. I just saw this card in our local scrapbook store and knew I had to make it, it is a cascading card and has several folds. It was quite a coincidence that folds were this weeks challenge. the red one is for Addie's bday tomorrow and the thank you card is for my sister who I will be staying with in Aug for a week. This is a fun card to make. thanks for looking

this week's challenge at Shopping our Stash is Triple threat....I used a doily, pearls, flowers and also did a cool technique with embossing paste and glitter on the cameo.  There is also a really neat hat pin included by the doily...kind of hard to see in the picture but it also has pearls on it....

Monday challenges

we finally got our Tim Holtz markers so I have been playing with them. I did these two cards using Tim Holtz markers, ink and paper. the blue one looks cockeyed, but it's just the way I cropped it. (truly it is straight; ) the  yellow one I made for my niece's bday on May 3rd, and Happy bday is stamped on the bottom but it looks like I cut it off when I cropped it. (hopefully I'll get better at that.) for this one I used the markers directly on the stamp and it worked quite well. for the blue card I stamped the image then colored it, I then used the ink to cover the whole image and give it a bit of an antique look. I dipped the white ribbon in the corresponding ink to have it match the flowers, I am entering them in the following challenges.

hopefully I did this right

CCEE1215

closed card

opened telescope card
I had to make an anniversary card for a 50th wedding anniversary. what a milestone. so I came up with this. I used my new Martha Stewart paper and a new technique called a telescope card. one picture shows the closed card and one shows it opened. inside there is a verse. I also got to use my peel offs that I haven't used in ages. the round one just seemed to go perfect on this circle. The 50 and best wishes were stamped and embossed with gold. I also put some pop dots in the layers that don't move to give it some dimension and when the telescope part is closed it looks like a cake. I added a bit of bling on the top layer, and my embellishments are a heart and key, ribbon and heart brads.
I'm entering this card in the following challenges
www.opus-gluei.blogspot.ca   - using a technique you haven't used in a while
www.cceestampers.blogspot.ca  - using 3 or more embellishments
